Oxaloacetate is Jubilance’s main ingredient. While oxaloacetate in the English language sounds very similar to “oxalate,” the two compounds are chemically quite different.
The first compound shown below is oxaloacetate, the second one is oxalate. (Oxalate is a 2 carbon/oxygen compound where oxaloacetate is a 4 carbon hydrocarbon chain.)
In human beings, there is no known pathway for the conversion of oxaloacetate to oxalate.
