Write a Letter to a Loved One. Break out your best stationary and write a letter to anyone you love. Tell them about your life, about what you’re doing in quarantine, or maybe even straight up pretend you’re in a Jane Austen novel and describe your time in your country house.

Send Anonymous Valentines. Valentines don’t have to be just for elementary school classrooms! I recently found some Harry Potter and Pokemon cards at the local drugstore and have been sending them anonymously to my friends. It’s a fun throwback and sure to bring a smile to their face and mine.

Read Some Poetry. I never read poetry, but at the suggestion of a friend, I’ve been reading one poem a day. It gives me a chance to reflect, to think about language in other ways, and to just sit in silence for about two minutes.

Light a New Candle. Candles just make me happy. I always have a candle burning on my work from home desk. Do you have a favorite scent? The fire can remind you of warm and cozy days, and certain smells can transport you! Right now, I have a candle from my favorite farm, Pole Hill Provisions, in Vermont Spruce that brings me back to camping in the wilderness with my family.
