Hey everyone!  So happy you’re here, I’m Alice Cash, the host of Weekly Woman and today we’re chatting with Dr. Megan Garlapow, about her life working in genetics, getting her PhD, and finding Crossfit.

Dr. Garlapow received her PhD in genetics from North Carolina State University and went on to get her postdoc at Arizona State University studying how environmental factors can affect body weight.

After her time in academia, she went on to learn about different careers for a scientist- one of them being a medical writer.  Dr. Garlapow went on to start her own entrepreneurial medical writing company and along the way continued to try different athletic activities, challenging both her mind and body.

Dr. Garlapow was always sporty – she raced bikes for a while before turning to Crossfit.  We’re chatting with her about all of her amazing work in the medical field and turning to her own health and strength!
