It’s July and we are right in the middle of summer!

It’s going by a little fast (doesn’t it always!), and I have been a little worried that I’m wasting it.

But, after reflecting and looking back at June, I think I have definitely made a big dent in my summer bucket list.

Here’s what I can check off my summer bucket list so far:

  1. Number one on my list was to relax and get sleep. I love not having to wake up to an alarm! Unfortunately it’s not everyday that I don’t have to wake up to an alarm, but the mornings I do…. Magical!  My boys have had to do summer morning workouts and get up before 7:00, so of course I get up with them, make breakfast, do my morning workout, and then take a little mid morning nap.
  2. I actually completed several home improvements. I painted my bathroom and stained my fence and front door. All of it looks amazing and the best part I bought all the paint and stain from the “Oops” section at Home Depot. Each gallon was only $9 and they were in the colors I wanted.
  3. As much as my boys and I have experienced Austin and the surrounding areas, there are still places more places to go and things to do. We went to Jacob’s Well and loved swimming there and seeing the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We have more areas and swimming holes to do, but Jacob’s Well was incredible.
  4. My favorite bucket list item, spend QUALITY time with family and friends. My boys and I have enjoyed movies, road trips, and outings together. It’s such a special time to enjoy them. I have been fortunate to get this much time to spend with them. I’ve also been able to share summer love with my teacher friends. We’ve been to wine tastings, dinners, and swim parties.
  5. Now that it’s July, I’m in super vacation mode. This is when my boys and I go to California and enjoy the beautiful city of San Diego with my sister and her family. We have created so many memories and continue to create more and more each year.  We spend days at the beach and seeing sea lions. Its the perfect way to spend summer.  We also get a break from the Texas heat!

I have many more activities to do this summer, but the best part is, if I don’t get to them, who cares! I’ve realized that it’s not a waste of time as long as my boys and I are enjoying ourselves and are happy. Summer loving, means happy and healthy great moments and relaxing in the sun, even if Texas is the actual temperature of the sun right now!

Love your summer, love your family and friends, and love yourself!
