Kolette Sisk, a rural mail carrier from Missouri discovered a way to find liberation from PMS.  With days where she’d convince herself she was a bad mother, or couldn’t get off the kitchen floor, she’s sharing her story of feeling great again during every part of her cycle with us to help share her story for other women!  Kolette graciously answered a couple questions for us about her time on Jubilance, her life, and the amazing parts of her town!

Jubilance for PMS:  What’s your favorite movie?

Kolette:  I’m a total nerd so it has to be any of the Avengers series.  Guardians of the Galaxy is definitely my favorite of all of them though.  Mainly because Chris Pratt is so sexy and funny.

Jubilance:  Roses or Sunflowers?

Kolette:  Sunflowers!  I’m a farm girl!  I love a good sunflower field.

Jubilance:  Favorite random fact?

Kolette:  Around 7% of people in the United States think chocolate milk comes from brown cows.

Jubilance:  Where are you from?

Kolette:  I’m from a small town in Missouri called Holden.  It’s about 45 minutes east of Kansas City.

Jubilance:  What’s your favorite part about your town?

Kolette:  My favorite part about my town is how close we all are.  There aren’t many of us, maybe 2,500 total so we all pretty much know one another, or at least know of each other.  Everyone’s famous in a small town.

Jubilance:  Walk me through the step-by-step process that you went through to get to where you are today.  What was the first thing you did?  Next?

Kolette:  Okay, so this is a long story!  I started my period when I was 12 and everything was normal until I was 16.  That’s when I started getting PMS.  At that time it was mainly just irritability that I could deal with so I didn’t do much about it.  When I turned 20 it started getting worse.  I would be anxious, irritable, and depressed for about four to five days before my period would start.

I went to my gynecologist and she recommended that I try a low dose antidepressant during my luteal phase (for those of you who don’t know, the luteal phase is the second half of the menstrual cycle which starts after ovulation and ends with the period).  I did as the doctor prescribed for about four months and it didn’t help at all.  I actually think it made me feel worse for longer.  After that, I just gave up and dealt with the 4-5 days of being an emotional, moody mess.

I had my daughter when I was 28.  I don’t know if all of those hormones changed my body chemistry or if being basically 30 did, but after I had her, my PMS symptoms were unmanageable.  I had postpartum anxiety and depression issues for the first year or what I thought was postpartum related, thinking back now it was definitely related to my period.  I would have two good weeks and then two terrible, long, miserable weeks.  I would get very angry, moody, mean, anxious, sad, depressed, and irrational.  I would convince myself that I was a terrible mother.  It was rough, but once my period would start I would be happy, calm, and my normal self.

Again, I went to my doctor and this time was given continuous birth control.  The idea being, that if I would skip my periods, I would skip the hormonal shifts, which then would mean I wouldn’t have PMS, RIGHT?!!?  Sounds good in theory but this did not happen at all.  I was even worse!  I had all the emotional issues still, but now also had the physical side effects of the pill.  I was a mess!

I started doing my own research and stumbled upon Jubilance and that has been life changing!!!  I’ve only been taking this supplement for two months but my life is 100% better!  I’ve had two straight months of no PMS at all!!!  60 days of being level headed, happy and calm.  No more calling out sick from work.  No more cursing my husband out over silly, trivial things.  No more feeling like the worst, most incompetent mother on the planet.  No more convincing myself of totally irrational things!

Jubilance:  What do you do for work?

Kolette:  I’m a rural mail carrier.  It’s a very stressful job but I love it.

Jubilance:  Do you have any fall traditions?

Kolette:  I do not currently have any special traditions except of course dressing up for Halloween.  I have a toddler this year so I’m hoping to start a tradition of going to the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins as a family.

Jubilance:  Can you talk about your experience with PMS?  Did you ever feel inhibited during “that time of the month” and do you have any examples of this?

Kolette:  I kind of talked about this while I was telling my story but I’ll tell a little bit more of my experience.  My PMS symptoms would get so bad every month.  They would start right after ovulation and not subside until my period would start.  I can remember one time last summer when it was at its all time high.  My husband and I were supposed to be heading to a family barbecue.  I was so anxious and depressed and I didn’t want to go!  He was getting mad at me and I was screaming at him.  I had PMS of course and was in the midst of a full emotional melt down.  I remember balling myself up on the kitchen floor and crying to him that I just wanted my period to start because then I wouldn’t be a panicked mess that’s causing him so much trouble.  He felt terrible for me and took the baby, and left me to wallow in my own self-pity.  I didn’t have Jubilance yet, so I stayed home and missed out on the fun all because of my PMS.

I have so many stories like that.  My period has inhibited my life so often.  I’ve canceled trips, left parties early, called out from work, stayed in bed for days eating ice cream and crying, yelling and getting so frustrated at my toddler.  My PMS made me an awful, emotional monster!

Jubilance:  What has your experience been like taking Jubilance?  How has your month changed when taking Jubilance?

Kolette:  Jubilance has given me the freedom that I would lose every two weeks!  Freedom to do what I want, to be the best mother and wife I can be all without the dread that came with my intense PMS symptoms.  I am no longer afraid of the second half of my cycle.  I used to always schedule important things for the first half of my cycle because I would be anticipating the PMS storm that would inevitably appear.  I could go on and on but the moral of the sotry is that this supplement has changed my life!  I hope it’s always available because I can’t go back to the way my life was just two months ago.

Jubilance:  If a woman walked up to you asking for your advice and you only had a few minutes to give them your best tip, what would it be?

Kolette:  Order Jubilance right now!  Stop questioning whether or not it will work for you and just give it a try!  It may just change your life like it has mine.

Jubilance:  And we’ll wrap up with just a couple of fun questions, what’s your favorite dessert?

Kolette:  Cheesecake!!  I don’t allow myself to have sweets very often, but when I do, I will pick some kind of cheesecake every time!

Jubilance:  If you were an animal, which one would you be?

Kolette:  I would definitely be a house cat.  I’m very stubborn.  I like to cuddle, but only when it’s my idea.  And most of all I love naps!

Jubilance:  When did you start your period?

Kolette:  I started my period at 12.

Thank you so much for everything Kolette!
