July 2020 is here!  We are all wondering, what is going to happen this month??? Well, for me, I’m still enjoying the time I have with my boys. I know it sounds sappy, but they are 15, 12, and 9 and we have had so much fun together. We have had moments and created memories that would never had happened.

We are all dealing with so many questions and unknowns during this crazy time. The one thing I’m sure of is, my boys and I have gotten closer and really enjoy being with each other.  We’ve had to change our usual summer activities. Normally we travel, spend time at amusement parks and swimming pools, see every summer blockbuster movie, and spend time with friends and family.

Our travel plans have become short road trips looking at beautiful scenery in the Texas hill country. We have decided to avoid roller coasters because our masks will fly off! Swimming has become limited but we still have a few opportunities to enjoy our neighborhood pool. We have turned our backyard into an outdoor movie theater with hammocks where we enjoy Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Prime with our projector and screen.  And Zooming with family and friends has become the norm.

Our lives are not the same, but we are still loving life and each other. I don’t know what the rest of 2020 and the summer has in store for us, but I know whatever comes next, my family and I will be together. The world is different, but we don’t have to be. Enjoy your loved ones, take advantage of this time you have with them, and make changes in your life that make you smile.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy!
