This is the gingerbread loaf you need in your life. This soft and moist loaf is almost cake like seasoned with ginger and nutmeg.
This is a classic holiday flavor that you will love!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ginger
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 pinch of salt
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- 1 stick of butter, softened to room temperature
- ½ cup of molasses
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup of buttermilk
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg, and salt
- In another bowl, mix together with a mixer the sugar and butter. Then add the vanilla and the molasses.
- Add the eggs to the mixture.
- Slowly add the flour mixture into the butter/sugar bowl.
- Next stir in the buttermilk to the batter.
- Add the batter into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake at 350 for about an hour.
