Are you a big tv streamer?
I feel like half of the discussions I have with my friends are what are you watching and would I like it?
We’re saving you the trouble of asking whether you would like it, we’ve vetted all these shows and you’ve gotta try them!
The Gilded Age. On HBO Max, this is a series brought to us by the same people who created Downton Abbey, so you know it’s destined for greatness, but now they’re back at the turn of the century in America, specifically New York City. It’s interesting to see historical New York, but it all centers around
Starstruck (New Season this Year). When a woman inadvertently sleeps with a movie star on New Years Eve, they slowly fall in love over the course of a year. The new season continues their story and is a great continuation of their story.
The Courtship. Imagine the Bachelor in Jane Austen or Bridgerton time, this is the premise of a new dating show available on Peacock. There’s all kinds of regency intrigue from dancing at balls, to sword fighting, to picnics.
The Flight Attendant (New Season this Year). This story about spies and intrigue takes place when a flight attendant wakes up next to a dead body and has no idea how she got there. The new season is still coming out and is just as fun as the first. Find it on HBO Max.
The Dropout. The show is based on the podcast The Dropout hosted by Rebecca Jarvis and first produced by ABC News and it is about the fall from grace of the silicon valley tech giant Theranos and its founder Elizabeth Holmes, played by the amazing Amanda Seyfried.
The First Lady. This is an anthology drama series on Showtime which just started this April It stars Gillian Anderson, Viola Davis, and Michelle Pfeiffer playing some of the most iconic first ladies of our country, Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, and Michelle Obama.
Life and Beth. A new comedy series with Amy Schumer and Michael Cera, this highly anticipated show has already been renewed for a second season.
How I Met Your Father. The long anticipated sequel to How I Met Your Mother is back and stars Hillary Duff! What’s not to love? The show takes place in the present and is already a hit.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window. Starring Kristen Bell, this parody pokes fun at all the crime shows that have come out recently and plays with tropes while creating a great tv show.
Inventing Anna. How much of this show are you quoting? I think especially since I live in New York and I remember the case against Anna Delvey, the Netflix series was particularly interesting. And my friends and I quote from it all the time, “I don’t have time for this, I don’t have time for you.” If you love true crime, watching all kinds of beautiful fashion, and a good mystery about who this woman is, try this show.
