When I think of November, I think of cozy scarves, warm comforting drinks, dense foods rich with flavor, and sitting around a table with family. Perhaps your family is made up of those biologically related to you or perhaps they are chosen. Either way, something might be kicking in this November season that is informing you to spend time with the ones you love. If you are looking for bonding activities that might deepen your relationships with your loved ones, then check out some suggestions below.
Practice gratitude with your loved ones.
This might already be a classic staple in your home, but if not, try going around the table and taking turns expressing what you’re grateful for, either about your family, or your life in general. Sharing those gratitude nuggets can make someone in your family feel appreciated, encourage someone to possibly view you in a different light, or boost the overall mood of the room.
Connect over a shared hobby.
Do your loved ones like football? Board games? Watching movies? Whatever you like to do, doing this activity together can be so lovely for connecting with one another. Make sure that you’re all free of distractions when participating in this share activity. Try putting phones away until your activity is done. This will show that you’re all bought in for together time.
Cook together
The meal you’re about to feast on has to get made some way, right? If you usually have just one person in the kitchen prepping all of those together-time goodies, offer them a hand. Creating together (especially with food) can be such a nice bonding experience. Perhaps you could even learn about that secret recipe from generations back. The food tastes better too when everyone takes part.
Whatever you might do to connect with the ones you love, we hope you enjoy it.
