Have you been salivating over the internet’s obsession with hot chocolate bombs? I know I am!
It is time to learn how to create this amazing Hot Chocolate bomb for ourselves.
We’re going in depth on how to create a Christmas or Holiday themed version of a hot cocoa bomb.
What you Need:
- 16 ounces of chocolate, either dark or milk depending on preference!
- 6 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix (without the marshmallows)
- 20 small mini marshmallows
- 12 pieces of peppermint broken up
- Holiday Sprinkles
- Milk or water for when you serve the hot cocoa bombs
- Hot Chocolate Bomb Molds (12 circular bombs)
Directions to make the Hot Cocoa Bombs:
- Melt the chocolate. Put the chopped up chocolate in the microwave for 20 second stints. Make sure to take it out each time and then stir it around. You want to make sure you don’t burn the chocolate.
- When the chocolate is melted, put it in the hot chocolate bomb molds, use a spoon or a brush to make sure the chocolate goes up on the sides. You want it to all be about the same thickness, try your best to make it work.
- Wait for the chocolate to be completely set, you might have to wait about half an hour, and you can put it in the fridge to speed up the process.
- Wear some gloves so the chocolate doesn’t stick to your hands and remove the half spheres of chocolate from the molds. Set these on a piece of parchment or wax paper and then divide the six tablespoons of hot cocoa with the six halves of the sphere.
- Add the marshmallows and candy corn to the bombs.
- Put an unused, nonstick pan on very low heat, seal the chocolate bommb by putting the unfilled half-sphere on the skillet open side down for just a second or two to warm up the chocolate. Set this warmed up half on the filled half-sphere and try to match the seams. Do this with all of the half spheres.
- Next, make sure the hot chocolate bombs harden after five minutes or so.
- Melt some extra chocolate or white chocolate and then sprinkle on top of the hot cocoa bomb, then sprinkle the halloween sprinkles on top.
