The best part of the winter is all the delicious comfort food that you crave.

Your house is cold enough to heat it up with the kitchen stove, and pasta sounds like the best food on earth.

Pesto is extremely easy to make and is a crowd pleaser for the whole family.

This recipe requires a food processor, but you can also try using a blender, or just cut up the ingredients into very small pieces and use a mortar and pestle.

What you Need:

  • 2 cups of dried pasta
  • 2 cups of fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts or almonds
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • ½ cup of parmesan cheese
  • Salt

Directions:

  1. Combine the basil leaves, pine nuts or almonds, and the garlic into a food processor until it is all finely minced.
  2. While the food processor continues to run, slowly pour in the olive oil and process until the mix is smooth.
  3. Next add the cheese and process just for 5 seconds, just for it to be combined.
  4. Boil a pot of water and add a little salt to it
  5. Cook the pasta
  6. Add the pesto to the cooked pasta and mix it all together.  To add something extra, add some extra parmesan on top or maybe a basil leaf.
  7. Voila, the best homemade pesto pasta!
