Looking for a light recipe where you don’t need to turn on the oven?
Look no further, this is the salad that you have to try for the summer.
And as a bonus, this salad could help you while on your menstrual cycle so this has got to be a must try recipe for an easy quick lunch!
I love to curl up next to the pool with my sunglasses on, a good book, a glass of froze and this salad. Trust me, it will have you feeling great, healthier, and refreshed. With the combination of berries and vegetables, there’s really no reason why it shouldn’t stand out as your favorite, or the best side at a barbecue.
Kale is actually the perfect vegetable to eat to help you on your period, it’s the PMS salad relief you need! But in all actuality, dark green, leafy vegetables are packed with calcium which can help with muscle tension during cramping. In addition, the iron and vitamin B can help you with warding off the fatigue that can come with PMS.
Strawberries are also a superfood when it comes to battling that PMS. Since berries are high in antioxidants, they can help balance out some of the hormonal changes during your period. Some also believe that they can help with low estrogen levels which can cause some menstruators to lose sleep during their cycles.
Others believe that an avocado a day might help keep the cramps at bay, since they’re full of fiber and healthy fats, Dr. Linda Booth in an article said that they might be able to “eliminate the prostaglandins (pain chemicals).” I’m not sure this works for me, but I do love to eat all of the avocados.
So basically, this salad might be the superfood salad that you’ve been needing to help relieve those frustrations during your cycle, or at least it will keep the heat down because you won’t turn on the oven to cook a salad in the hottest part of the summer.
And if you need some extra help, why not try our oaa supplement (oxaloacetate) to help with the ups and downs of stress and anxiety.
What you need:
- 4 Cups of kale
- 1 cup of Strawberries
- 1 Avocado
- ¼ cup of chopped almonds
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 3 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
What to do:
- Cut the avocado in half and then cut it into vertical lines. Scoop this out when you put it in the salad bowl.
- Cut up the strawberries so they are in thin strips.
- Crush the almonds with the back of a cup so they are smaller in the salad.
- Add all the kale, strawberries, avocado, and almonds to a salad bowl. Mix them all together.
- Add in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and voila! You can also get creative with the salad dressing, sometimes I like to switch it up and use sesame oil or a spicier olive oil to the dressing.
